Team Torres Derry is a World Class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy based in Derry. We are more than a BJJ Academy, we are a community that has been serving our members in Derry, and beyond, for over 10 years, founded by Martin McLaughlin.
What started as a small group of dedicated students has grown into a thriving academy – proud to serve our local community – built on excellence, discipline, community, camaraderie, respect and world class instruction.

Our Philosophy
At Team Torres Derry, our philosophy is that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art – it is a way of life.
Our goal is to help you to become a more confident well rounded version of yourself.

Our Expert Coaching Team
At Team Torres Derry, our academy is led by our Head Coach and Founder, Martin McLaughlin, whose experience, leadership and commitment set the standard for everything we do on the mats.
Martin is a former school teacher, 3rd degree BJJ black belt, Judo black belt, Level 2 Wrestling Coach, World Class competitor who has trained multiple IBJJF World Master and European Champions.
Supported by a dedicated team of coaches, every class prioritises safety, progression in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Our approach combines world class tuition with structure, patience and genuine investment in each and every student’s development – kids and adults.
Parents can trust that their children are in safe hands and adults can train with confidence.
