Why Families Choose Us
At Team Torres Derry, we are more than a class – we are a community. Families choose us because their children feel safe, valued, supported and inspired. In our structured and positive environment with certified, dedicated coaches, kids not only grow in skill, but in confidence, friendships and life skills that go far beyond the mats.
Your child will develop invaluable skills they wouldn’t learn from other sports – learning technique over strength, staying calm under pressure, problem-solving with confidence and focus. Families trust us to support development both on and off the mats.
Most importantly, they don’t just learn Jiu-Jitsu –
they become part of something bigger!

FAQs
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art that teaches children control, balance, co-ordination and problem-solving.
Unlike striking martial arts, it focuses on technique and leverage rather than punches of kicks. Kids learn how to stay calm under pressure, work with partners, and build confidence step by step.
